I'm a writer and reader based in Edinburgh, and I spend my days writing strange short fiction and novels. My work has been performed at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and published in books and magazines including The Stinging Fly and New Writing Scotland 35. I won the 2016 Bridge Award for an Emerging Writer, and Cove Park's 2017 Emerging Writer residency, and I'm currently working on my second and third novels and a collection of short stories.
As a general word nerd and story fan, I chair literary events in Edinburgh and around Scotland, I perform my work at spoken word and literary nights, and I volunteer with old folks at my local library where we converse slightly too loudly. I've also worked in the publishing industry for a decade and in that capacity, I edit, ghostwrite, research, consult and run courses for other industry professionals.
Outside of all that, I buy more books than I can read, I obsessively cook, and I dream about having a housepig called Trotsky.
